Rick and Denise's 35th Anniversary

35 years of marriage is truly something to celebrate. Marriage isn't easy, and you know in 35 years they must have had their fair share of ups and downs. So, to celebrate their commitment, love and hard work, Rick and Denise's daughter in law, Jennifer, did a lot of hard work planning a party full of sentimental surprises. Jennifer dug around to find old pictures and souvenirs from the wedding 35 years ago. I was thrilled when she told me she found a picture of the (10 tiered) cake, and the cake topper.

Unfortunately, or luckily, the anniversary party was only for 20 people, so, 10 tiers with a fountain wouldn't be appropriate, however, I was really excited to get to mimic the original cake.

All I had to go on was a bad print out of a scanned picture, but I did my best. I was unsure of the exact colors I had decided on, until I delivered the cake the morning of the party and saw that it was a perfect match with the things Jennifer had found. The quintessential 1970's wedding cake.
