SuperToby

Every year I ask Toby what kind of cake he wants, and every year he surprises me. (The first year, when he was turning 2, will forever be my favorite. I will have to post that one later).

This year, he said "Superman". You wouldn't think I would be surprised by that, unless you know Toby, and know that he has no idea who Superman is. He has heard his friends talking about superheros, and Toby loves to integrate other peoples' words into his conversations. (It is really incredible. Most of the time he is quoting an old English novelist, or a train, or Mrs. Toney, his preschool teacher's assistant.)

Anyway, I asked a few times, and he held fast, so I researched Superman. Then Toby insisted on buying Daddy Superman pajamas, which worked out perfectly for me and my artistic endeavors.

I was pretty happy with it, and I would say Toby was happy with it, too.
